| OUR MANAGEMENT OF CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY |
In our Corporate Responsibility Master Plan approved in 2007, the sustainability strategy of NH Hoteles was set out, planning the development of an annual Action Plan with the strategies for each year. The members of the Corporate Responsibility Committee reach a consensus on the plans and they are subject to approval by the NH Hoteles’ Management Committee.
In this framework, within the Corporate Responsibility Action Plan 2008, objectives and actions were established for the various corporate areas as well as a compliance review process by the Presidency every two months. One of the priorities has been to define the Company’s environmental strategy with the commitment to position NH Hoteles as an environmental innovator within its business sector.
In 2008, NH Hoteles embarked on an Integral Risk Management project that has led to the design of a Company Risk Map, which is an essential tool to make progress in the sustainable development of the business. The project has been led by the Audit and Control Commission and by the Internal Audit Department. Furthermore, all the areas of the Company have participated in the identification and management of risks.
