“nhube” at NH Cartagena (Spain)
Introducing more comfortable areas that are adapted
to customers’ needs is one of NH Hoteles’ greatest
objectives. The chain continues to promote all-
purpose spaces that combine several hotel services.
Along these lines, “nhube”, a pioneering concept in
the hotel industry that combines dining, leisure and
relaxation for the chain’s customers, was conceived
together with the much-acclaimed Spanish
restaurateur and consultant, Ferran Adrià. Following
the success of the first “nhube” opened at NH Balboa
hotel in 2003, the concept is now being expanded.
“nhube” combines the lounge, bar/cafeteria and
restaurant areas and is a totally innovative concept as
it is everything we like to find when we get home but
in a hotel: a multi-functional area where we can talk,
watch television, surf the Internet and listen to music
while eating, drinking, reading or simply relaxing. All
in a “flexible” atmosphere where space and lighting
change according to the different times and needs of
the day.
In 2004, NH Hoteles opened 4 new “nhube” facilities;
two in Spain and two abroad. In March 2004, the
company opened its second “nhube” in the
NH Cartagena, at the heart of Murcia’s nerve centre,
shopping and business district. In addition,
NH Hoteles inaugurated a third “nhube” at the new
NH San Sebastián de los Reyes hotel in Madrid.
“nhube” facilities were also opened in Spain in 2005 at
the NH Central (Seville) and the NH Alcorcón and
NH Pacífico hotels in Madrid.
”Nhube” has also set up business abroad. Customers
already have a “nhube” in the NH Vienna Airport,
situated at the airport of Vienna (Austria). Germany,
likewise, has had a “nhube” facility at the
NH Frankfurt-Airport since December 2004.
NH Hoteles plans to roll out the “nhube” concept in
12 destinations in 2005.
Each new “nhube” is designed along the lines of the
first outlet at NH Balboa (Madrid) but is adapted to
the needs and requirements of each individual hotel
and region.
In terms of the décor in new “nhube” spaces,
NH Hoteles has followed the original theme and used
neutral colours, natural fabrics and different sections.
The gastronomic offering, designed by Ferran Adrià, is
based on simple food served on original dishes made
from top quality raw materials. All served with a good
selection of wines.
